Last night, Roger and Kelly came over and brought Baby Riley.    This was really my first time to get to know him.  Wow, is this kid laid back or what?   He didn’t cry at all.   He completely goes with the flow.   Talking about making the pictures look great.   Riley made the “synchy”.

I did a little post production on the images with Roger and Kelly.  We were really happy with how they came out.  Kelly was more of a fan of the color and sepia.   I think the black and whites were nice, but the sepia tones rocked.   Here are a few of the images…

I’m glad that we were able to get this knocked out for Roger and Kelly.  We’re all so happy for them and their new family.

Let’s go fishing…

August 2nd, 2010 No comments

Last week I had an opportunity to take the family and my nephew up to Steamboat Springs for a little fishing trip.  It was time to introduce my nephew to fly fishing.  We had a great time.   I think we ended up with 15 trout, which was just the right amount.   I was amazed at how fast my nephew caught on to the whole fly fishing thing.  There is a lot to it.   I’m no expert, but it seems like some people get it and some people don’t.

Seems like a post card...

This picture seemed like a post card to me.  I love the reflections in the water and the blue in the sky.  I shot this with my little Canon S90.  There was sooooooo much haze, I had to hold my left hand up to block out the sun which was just off to the left side.  You can see my nephew at the far end of the lake.

I love it up there...

Here is another shot showing the pretty it is in the Colorado mountains.

I’m looking forward to getting more portraits done this week.  We have a line out the door of people wanting to get some pictures with Tracy’s daisies.  We should have some cool pictures to look at later this week.

Yesterday, Tracy told me she wanted to get some shots of the kids in front of her daisies that are in full bloom.   We spent a little time in the morning and some time in the afternoon to shoot pictures while trying to avoid the nasty mid-day sun (which is brutal).   Mitchell and Allie did a great job.

Allie was definitely in her posing mood.   Later in the day, Mitchell was in the mood to do pictures of the both of them.  We decided to move to the front yard to get a fresh look.

We love this one!

Wow!  They turned out great.  We were so pleased with what we got with a combined 30 minutes of shooting.

Baby Miles

July 18th, 2010 No comments

Yesterday Keith and Christi came by for lunch.   They of course had Baby Miles with them.

I love how his eyes are looking up at Dad.

I think he’s almost 10 weeks now.  He’s a great baby.  We decided to do a photo shoot on the black back ground.   He did a great job.   There was some fussing, but we took our time and gave him lots of Mom and Dad time in between the shoots.  I think we ended up with just under 10 keepers of him.  Keith and Christi can come by any time they want to hang out.   After the shoot, we just hung out for the rest of the day.   What a great day!  I definitely look forward to their next visit.

Thanks Cristi and Keith for hanging out with us.  Can’t wait to do it again.

The Ballerinas

June 6th, 2010 No comments

Today, we had some ballerinas stop by the studio for some quick shots.  I felt a bit out of my element not knowing how to pose a ballerina.  Since my 4 year old daughter is one, I guess I had better start learning this stuff.  I’ve never done ballet pictures before; they sure are pretty.

A Golden 50th kind of day

June 5th, 2010 No comments

Today was a crazy day.   We had both a family 50th anniversary to attend but also my daughters ballet recital.  By the end of the day, a lot of people had sunburn and quite a few were tired (me).

The Grandkids

May 31st, 2010 No comments

The task was to get a picture of all the grand kids.  Well, with heavy winds in Colorado, that can prove to be quite a chore.  The wind was blowing sooooo much we had to improvise.  We still managed to get some cool pictures.   Life is always filled with little challenges.
